University of Oslo is offering position(s) as PhD Research fellowship
at the Department of Informatics. One fellowship is for a period of up
to 4 years, with 25 % compulsory work and eventually one for three
fellowships for 3 years without compulsory work. Applicants must hold a
Master’s degree or equivalent in Informatics/Computer science.

Eligibility: The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a
strategic ambition of being a leading research faculty. Candidates for
these fellowships will be selected in accordance with this, and expected
to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic
credentials. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in
Informatics/Computer science. Candidates without a Master’s degree have
until 30 June, 2014 to complete the final exam. The purpose of the
fellowship is research training leading to the successful completion of a
PhD degree.

Systems (DMMS) research group is aiming to improve future networks and middle ware for advanced multimedia applications. Multimedia does not only mean audio and video, but also sensor data of any kind. We investigate context-aware and self-adapting solutions for transmission, distribution and management of (multimedia) data. For the PhD research, the candidate must document excellent grades from the formal education and the ability to successfully perform research towards a PhD in Informatics.
Total offer is of 50 – 57 (NOK 421 100– 473 400 per year)
