Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Plant Cell Biology and Imaging Oxford Brookes University -Faculty of Health and Life Sciences



Starting salary: £28,972 rising annually to £31,644

This is a fixed term appointment for 3 years

You will be responsible for:

working on a collaborative European project on the architecture and function of the plant endoplasmic reticulum
carrying out 3 dimensional electron microscope analysis of endoplasmic reticulum structure using confocal microscopy, transmission electron tomography and serial block face imaging scanning electron microscope
using laser tweezers as a tool to investigate endoplasmic reticulum membrane organisation
writing papers for publication and making presentations at meetings and/or conferences.

You should have:

a BSc and PhD in a biological topic
substantial research experience in cell biology with an emphasis on imaging both electron and confocal microscopy
ability to carry out collaborative research
good organisational skills.
