Corporate Counsel The candidate will have primary responsibility for
handling a broad range of supply agreements and other commercial
transactions with hotel partners and will provide legal advice to
business clients regarding contract interpretation, internal standards
and practices, new business initiatives and other commercial and
regulatory matters. Will act as a consultative resource for business
partners as they update company's products and services to respond to
changing legal requirements and the rapidly evolving and competitive
world of online travel. Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of
agreements (e.g. travel supply agreements, technology licenses and other
business agreements). Advise business clients regarding contract
interpretation and disputes, marketing communications, supplier
operations, and regulatory compliance. Manage and interface with outside
legal counsel, including managing a legal budget. Work with internal
business partners on proactive education and planning.
The candidate should have a J.D. degree and membership in good standing in at least one State Bar. Must have 5+ years of experience with a top regional or national law firm or experience working in a fast-paced, in-house legal environment, with 2-3 years of experience at a law firm. Should preferably have experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions, with exposure to intellectual property, antitrust, advertising law, consumer protection and other regulatory issues. Track record of establishing strong working relationships with internal/external business clients and within the legal department/law firm is required.
